Arenacross Glaswegian Dirt
Last weekend we made the big journey up to Glasgow for Round 2 of the Arenacross UK tour. FRO Systems PAR Elite team arrived on the Friday afternoonand parked as a team eagerly awaiting the Saturday morning to get on to the track. With the Glaswegian dirt this week being perfect and a really exciting track to suit it was set to be a great nights racing.
Firstly the 65cc with our Pocket Rocket Freddie Bartlett. Despite being the youngest in the class Freddie had another incredible day with a 4th and a 3rd in his finals.
In the Superminis Callum Beeken stepped closer to the podium with improved results with a 6th and a 5th.
In the PRO lites, Josh Greedy had a great weekend. In literally a ‘PRO’ field with a 9th and a 9th, again great progress.
In the PRO’s Gaetan Le Hir showed he had the pace for a main event win, but a huge crash in Q1 ended his night, luckily though nothing was broken. Finally Ashley Greedy had a good night, he just missed qualifying from the main event and unfortunately his initial head to head forte ended with a bad start.
Overall Glasgow dealt us with a total mixed bag of results, all of which were underneath what as a team we are capable of.
We are all fired up for our home event in Birmingham this coming weekend, Saturday 21st January. Come along, get behind your local team and support us! Birmingham is a special venue as the AX pre-show Pit party will be open from 3pm in the Pavilion, adjoining the Genting Arena. You can come and have a look round, get some tips from the pro riders and teams (including autograph sessions!), have some pictures taken with their bikes and of course meet the Arenacross girls at the AX Activation Area, complete with DJ’s laying down some beats! Tickets are available at www.arenacrossuk.com.
