Thousands of eager AX fans attended the Manchester Arena on Saturday for the opening round of the 2017 Arenacross tour to enjoy an evening of tense racing, high-air FMX, flame throwing, lights, lasers and music.
The racing threw up a few surprises as unfortunately neither of our PRO team riders made the main event, however we were still very pleased with both their efforts and we are definitely on the pace.
Elsewhere the younger riders won the hearts of the audience when our seven year old rider Freddie Bartlett blasted away from the start gate to get the hole shot. He held 1st position and led the 65cc group for several laps before finally being passed to grab himself an absolutely amazing 2nd place.
Team manager Mark McCann commented ‘ I am so proud of each and everyone of our riders and our team. Some of our riders are a little disappointed with their results but we are leaving Manchester with only a few bruises and a great base to build on. We had such an amazing time and are already counting down the sleeps for the next round!’
The next round of the Arenacross tour heads to the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow on Saturday 14th January 2017. Doors open from 6.30pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office on 0844 338 8000 or by purchasing tickets from the Arenacross website www.arenacrossuk.com
